Moving to Linux
I've got the bug. Ever since I first heard about this book on tech tv I've wanted to pick it up.
I have been interested in Linux and open source software for a long time but have been afrain that it is either too difficult to learn or too complex to experiment with easily. I am not usually intimidated with the too difficult to learn part, but I wanted to make sure there was some way that I could play with Linux that wouldn't completely screw up whatever computer I was working on.
This book includes a copy of Knoppix, a bootable CD with a collection of Linux software that can be run on a PC. The website says it can be used as a "Linux demo, educational CD, etc." which is exactly what I wanted to have.
Now I just have to wait for amazon to get the package here.

Linux is awesome. We worked with RedHat at school, and I recently bought
a full copy of Suse 8.2. It isn't that difficult, and it is fun to learn
ENJOY!

Knoppix! Oh, sorry, that is nasty twitch I have for whenver I read the word Linux. Knoppix!
That book tag line is hilarious though.
Thanks for the comment on my Lena post, I was surprised how many people actually read it and "liked" it.
Oh and that northern lights shot is too awesome! Keep on blogging!
