Hi, my name is Keith, and I am a Geek.

Yes, yes I am. I am a geek. I finally came to the realization yesterday when my housemate and I decided to get rid of our home phone service in favor of a pair of cell phones. The thing is...we both already had cell phones to begin with! Sarah had one that she uses out west for her field work, and I had a cell phone that I share on an account with my brother and nephew, so that we can talk long distance for cheap.

The problem with her first cell: no reception in our area, without roaming @79 cents/min.

The problem with mine: poor reception indoors. It's useful on the road and for the occasional outside phone call, but inside, not so good.

So we went to Centennial Wireless (a local independant), and picked up two nifty Motorola v60i's for free and have a plan with nationwide coverage and free LD. It will end up saving us a few dollars a month compared to local wire service and hopefully, kill the telemarketing calls.

So...why don't we kill the old cells? We are both under contract with our old companies. For crying out loud.

This has prompted me to start thinking about other ways that I know that I am a geek. Stay tuned for Keith's list of 100 reasons I am a geek.
