30 Minute Meals with Rachael Ray
Since the days have become very short, and the weather has turned frigid, I have found myself with more indoor spare time. I have taken to watching a bit more TV than I normally do, which is very little (an hour a day or less).
When I do flip through the channels, my favorites are generally Tech TV, Food Network, Discovery or F/X. I have recently been catching Rachael Ray on 30 Minute Meals. Not only does the food look delicious, the host is pretty awesome as well. Brunette, and she seems quite brainy...an incredible combination. Her latest book,30 Minute Meals "get togethers", in the image to the left, is on my Christmas Wishlist. Any benevolent readers out there?
She also has a show called $40 a Day, on Wednesday nights at 10:00 PM. I have not caught it yet...too late for me, and I have not set the VCR yet. Man, I need to get a TiVo.

Mom has a friend who's daughter used to be a producer of $40/Day for a short time.

TiVo is the best! I have had mine for a few weeks and it's great. I watch things whenever I want, skip commericals, season passes, wishlists. It's really cool.

Big R. Ray fan here! Mom and I are hooked. I miss TV for her...and will eventually sign up to get my fix! EVOO! (My brothers despise the way she giggles when she grabs the olive oil, but secretly they love her too.) Last christmas I got mom her first two cook books. I am hoping she gets me this new one this year, and then we can trade. Both her shows are great and her recipies to. My fav is her cashew chicken, which i LOVE to make...and eat.

I see Pops already posted. Frankly, I forgot about the friend whose daughter worked for TFN *but* I just had to say, I adore Rachael too. I find it unbelievably relaxing to watch TV cooking, as long as the cooks are female (BAM! does nothing for me). In fact, I'm going to go off to the Washington Post site now ... they have a pretty cool gal named Kim O'Donnel who has a lot of cooking videos right on line ...
