Getting Your Dream Job: Priceless

As someone who loves his job probably a little too much, I had to post about this.

It seems that LegoLand California has spent about a year looking for a new Master Model Builder. This person is one of those who designs, builds and maintains the huge models at the theme parks. I read an article at Slashdot a while back chronicling the search, with a link to a blogger who made it to the interview stage.

Well, Wired reports that they finally invited 27 finalists out to California to vie (sp?) for not one, but three positions. Read the report here: Wired News: Building a New Career is a Snap. There are more pics there.

It is always great to see someone get the "Dream Job". Playing with Legos all day and getting paid. Not MY dream job, but I can see the appeal. Congrats people.

We took Mr. Man on the "haj" to Legoland about two years ago. It's a great place which suffers from a serious lack of trees and I got the sunburnn to prove it.

We were allowed to see the Master Builders Studio from a distance. My favorite item was the 6 foot high Stay Puft Marshmellow Man.

The place has wonderful touches. The replica of Mt. Rushmore has a crew using a Lego Q-Tip to clean out George Washington's ear.
