The Boondocks, and other favorite comics, now e-mailed daily.

images/boondocksThe Boondocks, by Aaron McGruder (great article about him is here) , is one of my favorite comics strips to read. Bitingly funny and intelligent, I really get a laugh out of his work. Unfortunately, Boondocks does not appear in my daily newspaper of choice (The Detroit Free Press, aka "The Freep"), only in their Sunday Funnies. This is because Boondocks is in the Freep's sister paper, the Detroit News, which I do not much care for.

To move closer to the point, I have picked up a couple of the Boondocks collection books, and occasionally checked them out online. I never thought about doing it everyday, until...

Opening my new FoxTrot page-a-day calendar, I see there is an advertisement for mycomicspage.com. This is a subscription based service that will send me a daily email of comics that I like. I checked their list (which, while not comprehensive, is pretty good) and found not only the Boondocks, but also Red and Rover, Shoe, Liberty Meadows, and reruns of Calvin and Hobbes, other favorites that are not available in the Freep. The only one missing from my "daily wants" list was Dilbert.

So for $9.95 per year, I am getting a daily email with a customized page of comics. Pretty sweet, IMO.

If you have made it this far without hitting your browser's "back" button, I am curious...what is your favorite comic? Drop me a comment and let me know.

I have my favorite comics linked on my site, and Boondocks is one of them (or it should be there). I read it weekly. I catch up on all my ucomics.com and comics.com comics once a week. It is free to me that way. I don't list all my comics.com and ucomics.com on my site, though, now that I think about it. The list is already cumbersome.

I do need to get Dilbert delivered. I love that strip.

I visit that comics link quite often, espec. when I don't read the newspaper that day. I faithfully follow "For Better or For Worse", Boondocks, Luann, Dilbert (of course), and especially "Get Fuzzy".

"Get Fuzzy" rocks! another favorite is "The Norm".

I do like "Get Fuzzy" and love "Calvin & Hobbes", "Far Side" and "Shoe".

Good blog by the way! I found it via The Weblog Review. Maybe someday I'll gain the knowledge to design a site like you have!

I begin my day with comics.com. First there's Alley Oop, then Luann, then Monty.

If you haven't seen Monty (formerly Robotman) this week - by all means run like your backside is on fire. Just go to comics.com and scroll down to Monty and then go back to Monday.

We get the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and not the Seattle Times. The P-I has Boondocks, Sherman, The Phantom and Zippy.

Mr. Man is a big Sherman fan.

I wrote this script to email me the comics every day. Feel free to use it.

i have never read it or watch it in the adult swim, but the Filipino word (which is the title) made me intimidated. It looks funny and political, too. Which I kinda like. I may grab one of these days....

Magandang tao kayong lahat!!!!
For thse who cannot understand, go figure. ;-)
