Happy QuirkyAlone Day!
...or Happy Valentines Day, whichever you prefer.
I find the quirkyalone movement (see quirkyalone.net for more info) to be quite interesting.
From the website:
Who are the quirkyalones? There are many definitions, but we'll start with this one. Quirkyalones are romantics who resist the tyranny of coupledom. Whether by birth (womb quirkyalones) or through life experience (born-again quirkyalones), we are independent-thinking people who would prefer to be open to finding that magical click (and the myriad possibilities that life has to offer) rather than exist in a stifling or unsatisfying romantic relationship.
They adopted Feb. 14th as their day on purpose. Something to do with having options, and not needing to be in a relationship on Valentines Day.
I am single (I was married once, but it ended long enough ago that I reclaim "single" status), and there is no one special person in my life, so I am probably a quirkyalone. Either that or I simply cannot get a date. ;)
I took the "Are You Quirkyalone?" quiz... my results are below: (Click image to enlarge)
Apparently, I qualify... At least I am saving money on roses, candy, and romantic dinners this year.

I'm a 95.
How quirkyalone are you?
Your score was 95. Very quirkyalone:
Relatives may give you quizzical looks, and so may friends, but you know in your heart of hearts that you are following your inner voice. Though you may not be romancing a single person, you are romancing the world. Celebrate your freedom on National Quirkyalone Day, February 14th!
I kinda like that, and I kinda figured. :)
