Mom's Home

We were able to bring Mom home from the hospital yesterday evening. She is VERY happy to be home, but is still pretty wiped out from this whole ordeal. We sat up and watched part of the Grammy's last night.

Can anybody describe "Evanescence" to me? I am curious, and would like to know what their "sound" is. The band name is almost enough to make me want to buy their winning album. It was interesting to see that some nominees were deceased: George Harrison, June Carter Cash, and Warren Zevon. The Zevon tribute was cool. Am I the only one who thinks Beyonce and Justin Timberlake are tragically overrated? The funk part was amusing. Samuel Jackson cracked me up.

Today was spent getting the house set up so that Mom can use it while her arms are still weak. I cooked and cleaned, and then we went out to pick up prescriptions, etc. Mom still has a fair amount of throat pain from the breathing tube and has a tough time eating. I need to make some batches of soup before I leave, and I have picked up stuff for smoothies.

Mom and Dad are both napping right now, so I have a chance to update some of the blog stuff: I read all my email, caught up on blogreading, and now need to update DVD's and books to reflect what I watched/read/listened to whilst travelling.

Evanescence was feature in Daredevil, the Jennifer Garner film. I personally feel they are really cool, I just bought the album and love it. It is a bit like Tori Amos meets Enigma. You can listen to some of their music on their website, so check them out. http://www.evanescence.com/music/index.html

I'm sure you've already thought of it but I'd stock the freezer with lots of yummy flavoured icecreams too. Top tip: mashed bananas with vanilla icecream. Mmmmm....
