CafeShops GIF: How Bad Is It?

I have been playing around with graphics today, and decided to put up a small "banner" (can a banner be on the side? it's certainly too big to be called a button.) plugging my cafepress shop. I am not certain why I am doing this (plugging a shop, or having one in the first place... the playing with graphics part was useful), because I don't really expect anyone who reads my "thinks" to go rushing over to buy a t-shirt. I've sold one bumper sticker since I opened it. Heck, I haven't even purchased anything yet, and part of the reason I opened it was so that I could get small quantities of stickers, etc., to use as promo items without having to buy hundreds of them.

So, what I am really interested in knowing is: "Do you find the animated GIF annoying?" I am thinking about slowing down the frame cyclilng to make it less distracting. I know the images are not the best resolution, but I wanted to keep the file size relatively small.

So please, let me know what you think.

Doesn't bother me at all. Actually, it's nice to be able to see what's available over there without actually having to click on the link.

But what of our friends in dial-up land? Does this weigh down their page load time?

Personally, I think a bit slower would be easier on the eyes. But I'm all for things to look at. Of course, this coming from a non-shopper, such as I am.
