Email Accounts Coming Out of My Ears!
I activated an invitation to set up a Google gmail account this morning. I have been wanting to check this out ever since I learned about the Beta test for the web based e-mail that provides 1GB of storage.
After activation, I realized that this was the 4th email address I have now. I have my work address, my personal address (@randomthinks.net), the address which came from my ISP, and now gmail. A little too much connectedness? Maybe.
Gmail seems pretty slick so far, but I have not had much chance to use it. I hear that once you've used it a bit, you get a chance to invite others into the beta test. I'll post it here as soon as I do, so that I can pass on the fun to my loyal readers.

My invite arrived earlier this week. Supposedly if you use Camino - the Mac Mozilla browser- you can import all your contacts from Address Book. But I haven't found that to be the case. There's also a Mac freeware program that lets you add a Gmail bookmark to your address bar that updates how many messages you have in your inbox.
It's pretty impressive how Mac friendly Gmail is.
What I want is a second gmail account to give out as my "primary" mail address. After that I'll use a standard email client with a private acct to give out (to people such as yourself) who I know won't "family s/pam" me.
OH THE UNCERTAINTY! OH THE UNKNOWNING! I SHALL NEVER KNOW OF ANOTHER FAKE VIRUS ATTACK AGAIN! OH WOE IS ME!

You know, I have the same problem. I've decided to drop my hotmail accounts, but I can't get rid of my work account. The bad thing about switching over is that there are mailing lists that I am on which only mail things out sporadically. Of course, I can't remember them all right now, but some of them I'd like to still recieve things from. So, I guess I'll have to keep checking the old hotmail account for awhile. BTW, if you want another gmail account, I'd be happy to send you another invitation.
