They're Back...

Our first year students started arriving on campus early this morning. I usually go up on the roof of my building and take pictures of the students moving in, but it has been extremely humid and threatening t-storms all day long, so I decided to skip it.

Of course, since most of our campus is not air conditioned, it makes a perverse kind of sense that the only hot days of the summer that we have had have been the last three. Fortunately there are enough places to escape the heat for both the students and the faculty. My office has an A/C unit, but I decided to get out and test the wireless access in our new student center. I am sitting at a cafe table, sipping a Diet Pepsi, and blogging. It is wonderfully cool, and very well appointed. A espresso/coffee service is slated to open soon and will be open late at night. I think this place is going see quite a bit of traffic from both the students and the faculty/staff.
