Been Away From the Keyboard

Things have been WAAAY to busy lately. It is crunch time for me. We are approaching the 2/3rds point in the semester. That means: another set of exams, a lot of nervous students, two weeks of all my advisees coming in to sign up for spring classes, two weekend admissions events that I need to attend, and the final touches on the 8th Annual Adrian College "Magic of Science" performance.

This year's show is going to be really great. We are doing things a little differently this time: a little less explanation, a little more entertainment orientation, and the inclusion of both music and a little theatrical interpretation.

I am working with 8 student performers, at least two student coordinators (lights and music), a colleague on video, and hopefully another on animation and titles. I am: trying to coordinate press releases, a photo promo shoot, ordering last minute chemicals, printing programs, posting and mailing fliers and posters, mixing the music, finalizing student ideas on presentation, trying to find someone to effectively shoot digital stills during the show (in reduced lighting), and trying to put together a demonstration of my own.

This is bigger than ever before. The whole process has been great, but incredibly busy. I am working with some absolutely great students, and I am incredibly proud of how hard they have worked.

I've also managed to update the left sidebars on the site today. Lots of new DVD and CD purchases, but not much time to watch anything.
